Judy has always had a keen interest in Art, however, due to family and career commitments time did not permit her to follow during her professional career. Although, many years ago she did have a short stint with classes at the Melbourne Art School in Elsternwick which mainly involved drawing.
Since retiring from her long and demanding career in the Minerals Industry in 1999 involving Senior Management and extensive travel in Australia and Overseas, Judy set up her own Management Company and wherever time permits has been involved in Art, particularly at the Ringwood Art Society.
Judy is a “hobby artist” using oil, acrylic, watercolour and occasionally pastel. She has had lessons in Oil Painting at Templestowe, Portrait and Life Drawing Classes in Ringwood; and currently expanding her art interest in classes with Ron Reynolds at Doncaster and with Michael Goff at Ringwood. She prefers impressionist and portrait paintings and is very interested in improving her techniques and also being involved in abstract painting. Painting in a diversified way helps being more creative and Judy enjoys travelling which enhances her knowledge and expanding opportunities for a variety of interesting subjects.
Judy is currently President of the Ringwood Arts Society and also is responsible for promotion and marketing. She is also a Member of the Doncaster and Templestowe Arts Society.
Judy is Administrator of The Graeme Hildebrand Foundation which was established to award an Art Scholarship/Travel Grant to developing artists who would benefit from funding from tuition or travel, and who would otherwise be unable to take advantage of such an opportunity.
