Artist Profile :
          The interest in drawing for Helen has been since childhood.

After raising three children to adulthood the time had come to pursue this interest further, so she enrolled in Drawing & Painting classes at Wyreena Community Arts Centre. 

During the five years of tuition at Wyreena, by Deb Hildebrand in various mediums, Helen has developed her own style and has proved to be diverse in subject matter and medium.

Now in 2011 Helen is continuing to work with a variety of mediums, including the use of gold leaf with acrylic paints to create an interesting, vibrant effect, which works well with her style of painting.  In 2010 Oil painting on canvas was taken up with relish for all the beautiful colours and their rich intensity.

Portraiture, including portraits of animals, continues to be a favourite subject of choice with abstracts and landscapes also forming an integral part of her artwork.

   

          Helens’ work has been appreciated and purchased by a growing audience as she continues to strive
          for improvement in her craft.  

            In February, 2008, Helen joined the Ringwood Arts Society and currently serves on the Committee
          as Secretary.

Mediums : Graphite Pencil, Pastel, Mixed Medium, Acrylic & Oil Paints.

   

The preferred medium for her detailed drawings is Graphite Pencil, and Paints for the sheer pleasure and therapeutic enjoyment of creative expression in colour.
